On Sunday, May 15, Br. George Parayil will be ordained a Deacon in the Syro Malabar Church at his home parish here at the Cathedral. He will be the first person from our very own parish receiving the Diaconate. As someone who was born here and raised in our community, we pray for him as our own son or brother.

Diaconate Ban Announcement:
Bro. George Zachariah Parayil, son of Zachariah (Raju) and Betty Parayil, a member of this Mar Thoma Sleeha Cathedral will be conferred the sacred order of M'Samsana (Diaconate) on Sunday, May 15th, 2022, at this Cathedral, by Mar Jacob Angadiath, the eparchial bishop of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago. Bans are hereby announced according to the prescriptions of Canon 771 of CCEO, so that if there is any impediment, then it is to be reported to the respective authority in due time and form. Also, it is intended that the parish family may pray for the candidate Bro. George Zachariah Parayil to receive this sacred Order with due preparation.
