Conclusion Ceremony of the Jubilee Year of Mercy

Pope Francis had announced that the Catholic Church will be celebrating an extraordniary Jubilee year of Mercy commencing from December 8th 2015,  the Solemnity of Immaculate Conception and will be concluding on November 20th 2016, the Solemnity of Christ the King. During the year of Mercy, Holy Father had also announced an opportunity for Catholics to obtain a plenary indulgence by passing through a designated Holy Door, or performing one of the corporal or spiritual works of mercy; and fulfilling the usual conditions of having the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, receiving sacramental Confession and the Holy Eucharist, and praying for the intentions of the Holy Father.

So as we are coming to the end of the year of Mercy, the Syro-Malabar Cathedral will be organizing a 40 hour perpetual Eucharistic Adoration starting on Friday 18th November from 8.00 pm until 10.30 am on Sunday 20th November followed by Eucharistic procession and the closing ceremony of the Door of Mercy . There will be priests available for Confessions and opportunities to pass through the Holy Door in order to obtain a plenary indulgence. All the parishioners are kindly invited to spent this time for prayer and reconcilation, as to receive the Mercy of the Father and to prepare ourselves for the Solemnity of Christ the King.
