Seminar on Funeral Planning on March 17, 2013

A seminar on Funeral planning was conducted after the inauguration Ceremony at the Parish Hall. The topic of the seminar was Simple Steps to Advanced Funeral Planning which was presented by Mr. Darren Malone who is the President of Fidelis Funeral Consultants.

Darren is a licensed funeral director and has worked in the funeral industry for over 25 years. He had the privilege to help thousands of families with funeral planning and funding, and he brings a wealth of knowledge on the subject. Darren has spoken nationally to many organizations, churches and professional industries educating them on the importance of advanced funeral planning and funding. Darren has also authored many articles for senior publications and also assisted many companies in the training and development of their staff concerning end of life planning. About 300 parishioners participated in the event. Many people including young adults and the senior citizens of our parish actively took part in the seminar. Majority of our community has a very limited knowledge about the funeral planning. During any unexpected incidents of our dear and near ones, our emotions overrule and we completely rely on the guidance of others. The event revealed that with proper planning, we can deal with unbearable situations in a dignified manner. We express our profound gratitude to Mar Joy Alappatt for inviting Mr. Darren Malone for this Seminar. We also thank the entire SMCC Members of Chicago chapter who took the lead in inaugural session of the newly constituted Chapter, and for all the help in organizing the funeral planning seminar.
